23 Things I Learned by 23

1. Good things take time. Sometimes waiting is so hard but in the end it’s worth it.

4. On the other hand sometimes it’s okay to say no when you need to.

5. Set boundaries. It’s okay to set boundaries and make sure people respect them.

6. Don’t be scared to be vulnerable. Showing your feelings is not weakness.

7. Treat yourself. Having a bad day? Do something for you.

8. Self care is SO important. Take a bath, do a mask, meditate.

Interesting Fun Facts About Banff

Banff has always been on my bucket list for travel destinations! It is a beautiful place with lots to offer.

One of Canada’s most popular tourist destinations is Banff National Park and its associated town of Banff, located in the province of Alberta. Together, they attract more than four million visitors to their picturesque corner of Canada every single year. What makes the region so special? Read on to find out!Banff National Park is Canada’s first and oldest national park, and the third such park in the entire world.

The town of Banff was the first town to ever incorporate inside of a national park.

In 1883, Canadian Pacific Railway workers discovered the hot springs of Sulphur Mountain. Today, those same springs are home to the incredibly rare and endangered Banff Springs Snail.

From 1957 to 1981, Sulphur Mountain was also home to a special laboratory built to study cosmic rays and space articles as they entered Earth’s atmosphere.

In 1885, a 10-square mile reserve was built around the Cave and Basin Hot Springs in the Canadian Rockies, kick-starting efforts to promote the area internationally as a luxury resort and spa. The goal of these efforts was to attract more customers for the Canadian Pacific Railway.

The name “Banff” comes from Banffshire, Scotland, the former home of two of the Canadian Pacific Railway’s original directors.

The historic (and purportedly haunted) Fairmont Banff Springs hotel, opening in 1888 with one unique eccentricity. That is, it was built backwards, the result of workers accidentally reading the blueprints upside down.

Banff has the second highest elevation of any community in Alberta, making it a popular location for skiers and snowboarders. There are currently no less than three different ski resorts situated on Banff real estate: Ski Norquay, Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Sunshine Village.

Every year, the Banff Iiniskim Powwow celebrates the culture and history of the indigenous peoples who originally settled the area before Banff’s founding. During the event, Native Canadians gather and perform live musical and dance performances in traditional tribal regalia.

In 1985, the United Nations declared the entire Banff area as a protected World Heritage Site.

Banff’s Castleguard Caves constitute Canada’s largest cave system.

Banff’s Lake Louise is the single most photographed lake in the world

Banff National Park is home to more than 1,000 glaciers.

Some of the mountains in Banff National Park are more than 120 million years old.

One of the largest lakes in Banff is Lake Minnewanka, a manmade lake. An entire submerged village can be found at the bottom, which visitors can freely explore while scuba diving.

The Best Self Tanners

Hi everyone! This post has been a long time coming. I have been self tanning for years! I’ve tried so many different tanners out and these are some of my favorites.

My absolute favorite tanner is by Loving Tan. This was my game over tan! I have never loved a self tanner as much as this one. My second favorite is St. Tropez. This is my OG tan. I used this tanner for years and years before I found loving tan. This is a great one for beginner tanners. My third option is by Tarte. They discontinued the foam version of this unfortunately, but Tarte does a great job with self tan!

I linked them in my LIKEtoKNOW.it app!

Let me know what your favorite self tanner is!

Fun Date Nights

Date nights are so important in a relationship! We all know this. I love going out and doing fun different things with my boyfriend. I created a list of dates that are different than your typical movie and dinner night.

1. Take a cooking class together- If you’re anything like me you need some help in the kitchen sometimes and I have been really wanting to try a class at Sur La Table.

2. Stargazing + Snacks- This is a fun one and something I love doing with my boyfriend. It’s really relaxing to sit outside and look up at the stars and just talk and enjoy each other’s company.

3. Make a charcuterie board- This one is super simple. Take time to put together a fun board and then sit and enjoy it together. This is a twist on just a regular dinner date.

4. Couples Massage- This is one of my favorites…a nice relaxing day is exactly what you need sometimes.

5. Comedy Show- I love this date idea because it is a different kind of entertainment and something you guys can talk about and joke about later too.

6. Have a picnic- Pick a spot you both love, pack foods you both like, and enjoy the day!

7. Go to a market- I love farmers markets and I think this could be a really fun date idea for people who like to browse and buy stuff. There are also other markets besides a farmers market to choose from!

8. Take the enneagram/love language quiz- This is a really easy night in and is great for bonding time together!

9. Game Night- You can do so many different things with this one! Go out for trivia, stay in and choose a two player game, have a couples game night, there are so many options!

10. Painting/Arts and Crafts- Have your own paint and sip night! Get some canvas and paint and try to follow along with something easy.

All About Hair Extensions

Hi everyone! I get a lot of questions and compliments on my hair so I decided it was time to do a blog post about it. I love having hair extensions! The kind I get are called micro link hair extensions.

Before
After

I get the longest length for my salon which is 24inches! I go to a salon in Scottsdale called AZ Strands (Dakota London Hair). I get 100 strands of hair and go every 8 weeks to get it moved up.

I absolutely love my hair and the quality! It is lightweight and matches my natural hair very well. I have been getting my hair done for about 7 months now. At your 6 month mark you are able to trade your hair in for brand new hair!

Any more hair questions? Feel free to ask.

Books Every 20 Something Should Read

I love to read. I discovered my love for it in 4th grade and have enjoyed reading ever since. Being a 20 something year old woman I think there there are some books out there that every 20 something needs to read! I put together my list with my top picks.

1. The 5 Love Languages

This is a book that everyone needs to read and I mean it. It reveals a lot about the way you want and need to be loved. I think knowing your partners love language is so important in a relationship because it helps so much with knowing how to handle situations or how to make your partner feel the most loved.

2. Why Men Love Bitches

Why do men love bitches? And what does the author mean by “bitch”? This is a must read. I think all young women need to read this. It is helpful in setting boundaries and setting a standard for how you want to be treated in a relationship.

3. You are a Badass

I love the tone of voice that this author writes in. This book holds your attention and gives you lots of great information!

4. Milk and Honey

The poetry book that everyone needs to read! Such a great book full of beautiful deep words.

5. A Cookbook

Seriously any kind of cookbook! Pick one, any one! I recently picked up the Tasty cookbook and I love it. I don’t like to cook but I know that I’ll need to learn to make more recipes because I can’t live off Trader Joe’s meals forever!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Let me know if you want to see any more reading lists or book recommendations.

My Thoughts on this Season of the Bachelor

I have been a fan of the Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise for years and years now! One thing I really love about watching this show is picking my top 4! I love predicting who is going to go on hometown dates.

Last night I made my boyfriend sat down and watch the three hour season premiere. He also got into the fun of picking his favorites!

The way I pick my top 4 is pretty simple! I also like to do a top 6. I always pick my two front runners. These are the girls who obviously have good chemistry with the bachelor right from the start. My two front runners are Hannah Ann and Madison! Hannah got the first impression rose and clearly had Peters attention. Madison got to go and meet Peters family. She has also done a good job opening up and being honest about feelings.

Hannah Ann
Madison

Next I pick my “wildcard” this person is usually third or fourth runner up. I usually don’t like this person as much (or at all) and sometimes they stay and bring some drama to the show still. I picked Victoria F for this one. I don’t like her but I think she’s going to stick around.

Victoria F

My fourth pick this year was my hardest because I wasn’t too sure on any of them but Peter seems to really like Kelley. They had already previously met and hit it off, because of this I’m going to go with her for the last of my top 4!

Kelley

I also have my picks for who I think is going to go further and also who I think will be the villain of the season!

Mykenna
Victoria
This seasons “villain” is Natasha

Let me know what you guys think! Also how did you feel about Hannah showing up?
